New Urban STYLE- Summer 2018 Fashion Trend Alert: Cantaloupe, Coral Reefs & Tequila Sunrises

Sunset hues of summer: aquatics, corals, melons, peonies. The same hues translated to the runway for summer fashion: bottom center; Cushnie et Ochs. Right; Badgley Mischka

A 1970s cocktail originating in Sausalito, California inspires
one of the most notable color palette trends for summer 2018,
the "Tequila Sunrise"
When the sun sits high and the weather is warm,  nothing says summer like the hues of juicy melon, fresh flowers and the warmest colors of the deep sea. Drawing inspiration from flora, the soft flesh of summer fruits,  and the vibrant tones of coral reefs, one of the most prevalent color palettes you'll be seeing in fashion throughout summer is reminiscent of the famous 1970's cocktail, "Tequila Sunrise".  Starting from the softer end of a pinkish-orange palette with soft, pastel-like melon, then floating into starker corals and oranges, cantaloupe and coral hues will be front and center for summer fashion and can add a bit of bounce to your wardrobe when you tire of black and neutrals. Check out our curation of some of the loveliest hues from the runways and how you can take the trend and make it your own below
