Variety is the spice of life with Germany now stocking more inclusive cosmetic colors on discount drugstore shelves.

The tail end of winter brings some exciting beauty news for women of color in Germany as Budni, DM, and Douglass have finally rolled out foundation and concealer shades from US cosmetics powerhouse, Maybelline Cosmetics. Although Maybelline New York is the second most profitable cosmetics brand in American drugstores- while the company has officially carried cosmetics for darker skin for three decades, the German branch of its global empire has been slow to service that particular demographic despite having a wide variety of ethnicities and skin tones representing the German cosmetics customer.
Our everyday go-to makeup shade for bargain beauty on the run: previously the darkest shade of Maybelline New York's FIT Me! cosmetics available in German drugstores- #355 has now been joined by deeper hues on discount cosmetics shelves across Germany.

After introducing 2 medium tones (#320 & #355) from Maybelline's latest tint makeup, "Fit Me!" several years ago, the German branch of the company announced the rollout of a more inclusive range of shades from the "Fit Me!" line on Instagram at the tail end of 2018.

Our beauty boots on the ground have found that it appears ladies can now purchase Maybelline's darker shades of  FIT Me! concealer and foundation at their neighborhood Douglass or corner Drogerie, with Budni and DM carrying rich colors that recall the hues of coconut shell, caramel, pecan, and expresso.

Our experience with the brand and product line can attest to its matte finish and general durability, although we suggest using it with a primer for longer lasting wear.  As a discount alternative (under €10) to pricier designer brand cosmetics from department stores,  it's perfect for everyday use and now, a huge step towards ensuring women of diverse skin tones now have instant access to cost-friendly cosmetics.
