While last February's Fall/Winter 2017 presentations were heavy on textiles in the plaid and checkered department, a classic European plaid pattern stood out most among the rest, and you'll be recognizing it in all your local stores right now for the current shopping season. It's the black/white/ gray pattern known as Glenn Plaid, a print that originated in Scotland's Glenurquhart Valley during the 19th century, and it's back, bigger and better than ever before to suit shoppers of every taste and lifestyle.

Traditionally used for men's and women's day suiting, Glen Plaid (sometimes referred to as Prince of Wales check)  was the fall/winter 2017 pattern of choice in runway looks ranging from glamorous evening wear to casual-contemporary kimono top styles by designers like Tracey Reese- leaving plenty of additional options for those who prefer this classic pattern in traditional, "business-separate" silhouettes like crisp trousers, shift dresses, suit jackets, and overcoats.

If you need a fresh look for the office that can carry you from now into the next season, Glen Plaid suiting may be perfect for you (sidenote: it will be returning for Spring 2018, but we'll get to that after Christmas). If you want to dress it down for less formal days, wear with your favorite jeans and a pair of sneakers, or feminize it with this season's high boots. Either way, it's a cool classic print that'll recycle itself easily through the years, long after we have our fashion fun with fall/winter 2017's Plaid Madness.
