-NEW URBAN VOICES- TERROR IN LAS VEGAS: How People Are Feeling in the Aftermath

Between the all the storms ravaging the globe and the incessant violence devastating our global communities,  it's been quite a period of havoc and upheaval reported in the news recently.  Not least of all was the  last week's domestic terror attack in Las Vegas, Nevada, leaving 58 dead, 489 people wounded, and an entire nation completely stunned.

While many news outlets are currently focusing on the perpetrator of this horrendous tragedy, at NUY 40+ we'd like to take a moment to examine how the average American left behind is feeling in the wake of one of the largest mass shootings in U.S. history.  First up: a discussion panel at ABC Televsion's daytime talk show The View- featuring commentary from show moderator Whoopi Goldberg and former US federal prosecutor Sunny Hostin.

...and now a chance to go deeper with voices on the ground: YouTube personality Tikki44 is a popular vlogger and Las Vegas native known for her folksy celebrity chit chats, tours of local Vegas haunts and Sunday words of encouragement to her viewers- all filmed while en route to her daily job as a veteran employee on the Las Vegas strip. A woman with quite a powerful personal testimony of faith and overcoming, the usually upbeat and unflappably optimistic "Ms. Tikki" (as she is referred to by her loyal subscribers) describes what it's really like to be in Las Vegas in the wake of the Vegas Concert Massacre massacre, with a heart and fragility not possible to capture in standard news reports:

Our condolences to all who have been so deeply affected by this horrifying event. Our prayers go up for #LasVegasStrong.
