Changing the game: the first African-American to land a
Disney director's deal AND be in charge of a $100 Million
film budget, "Wrinkle in Time" director Ava DuVernay
While the world collectively catches its breath from Disney's whopping film cyclone that was February's "Black Panther", there's already a new Disney fantasy on the horizon with visionary Hollywood director Ava Duvernay at the helm. Disney's "A Wrinkle in Time" is based on Madeline L'Engel's beloved 1962 children's book by the same name, and features an all-star cast including actor/screenwriter Mindy Kaling, Academy Award-winner Reese Witherspoon ("Walk The Line"),  Academy Award-nominee Oprah Winfrey ("The Color Purple", "Selma"), and introduces teenager Storm Reid as the story's protagonist.

In "A Wrinkle In Time",  we meet central character Meg Murry and her little brother, Charles,  who have been without their scientist father, Mr. Murry, for five years, ever since he discovered a new planet and used the concept known as a tesseract to travel there. Joined by Meg's classmate Calvin O'Keefe and guided by the three mysterious travelers known as Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which, the children brave a dangerous journey to a planet that possesses all of the evil in the universe. Though "Wrinkle.." originates from a children's book, it's being billed as an inspiration for the child in us all, and will likely be an instant favorite for moviegoers who love book-adapted films like "The Wizard of Oz", and "The Lord of the Rings". Check out the trailer for " A Wrinkle in Time" below, followed by remarks from director DuVernay and her young star, Storm.

Disney's "A Wrinkle in Time" is set for theatre release in Germany April 5th,  2018. The German version will be titled "Das Zeiträtsel". Be sure to check for screening times and locations at filmstarts.de !
