Adrienne Houghton (neé Adreienne Bailón) is co-host of popular U.S. talk show "The Real", a daily entertainment talk panel of thirty and forty-somethings from the fashion, comedy, music, and acting world who discuss topics ranging from celebrity news to dating, married life to motherhood. Two years ago, "Real" audiences were privy to a tearful on-air confession from the former Disney actress & singer as she shared she had, since her heyday as a Disney "Cheetah Girls" star, developed debilitating stage fright from hating the sound of her own voice, and couldn't bring herself to release new music for crippling fear of failure - and not being accepted by the public.

Well what a difference two years can make: the recently wed Bailón-Houghton (who is wife to gospel powerhouse Israel Houghton) has found the courage to conquer her greatest fear and sing again, and is doing so specifically with compassion and purpose in mind:  today she releases a bi-lingual Christmas album, "New Tradiciones"featuring the single, "The Gift"- the album was written and recorded with Israel, with 100% of proceeds being donated to rebuilding Puerto Rico.  The Caribbean island was catastrophically damaged and remains in extreme humanitarian crisis after being bludgeoned by Category 5-level Hurricane Maria this past September. The storm was the strongest ever reported on record, and to date, of the 3.4 million Americans who inhabit the U.S. island territory, outside of the capital city of San Juan, most remain engulfed in destruction without electrical power or clean drinking water.  The New York born Boriqua has said of Puerto Rico's recovery,  “It’s important that we keep awareness because we hear about it for a little bit in the news and then it goes away ..."

Check out the Houghtons below as they sing to spread a little Christmas joy and help the millions of Americans in need on the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico:

If you, too, would like to spread a little Christmas joy to the millions of U.S. citizens suffering in the wake of Hurricane Maria's destruction in Puerto Rico,  the Houghton's production "New Tradiciones" can be purchased via Amazon or iTunes with all proceeds going towards rebuilding the island.
